No! At CustomCreteWerks, Inc. we believe you shouldn’t worry about spilling your wine and staining your countertops. Our N-hansed™ surfaces are Stain-Proof and can be cleaned with standard household cleaners. (409, Fantastic, Simply Green, Green Works, Soap & Water, etc.)
We pre-cast all countertops at our manufacturing facility in Racine, WI. Working off-site allows us to control important environmental elements that affect the appearance and strength of our finished products. It also allows us to use special machinery, tooling and materials to create integral features, edges and finishes.
We have a variety of standard colors to choose and can produce any custom color to fit your project. ($150 charge per custom color sample)
Our countertops vary in thickness depending on the application. Standard 1.5″ countertops weight about 10lbs per square foot. This is much lighter than most stone materials which average 15-18lbs per square foot.
Yes. Our concrete is heat resistant up to 450 degrees and you can place hot item directly onto the surface. We do recommend in any situation where you are placing direct heat onto a pot or pan to use heat pads or trivets. Metal items placed directly onto a burner or over an open flame can exceed 450 degrees.
Our concrete surfaces are more durable then most but we do not recommend cutting directly on them. We recommend using a cutting board to prevent scratching the surface and dulling your knives.
Seams will vary depending on the kitchen/project layout. If seams are needed we will advise to any placement possibilities so the best visual appearance can be achieved. In most cases, seams get filled with a color matched grout or clear silicone.
There are many factors that manipulate size restrictions. We typically like to keep items below 10’ due to maneuverability issues during production, delivery and installation.
Tile thicknesses vary from ½” to 1” depending on application and size. If needed, we can manufacture tiles to a specific thickness to accommodate your project.
Our standard backsplash thickness is 3/4″. If needed, we can manufacture backsplashes to a specific thickness to accommodate your project.
Depending on the application our typical countertops have a minimum thickness of 0.75”. All exposed edges will be manufactured to the visual thickness specified. (Typically 1.5” or 2” for kitchens) We can also manufacture any desired thickness to fit your visual needs.
There are many variables that manipulate delivery times on custom orders. Typically small kitchens and bathrooms take 4-6 weeks. Larger projects can take 6-8 weeks. Our delivery times also can vary depending on current production volumes and project size. If you are concerned with delivery times it is best to contact us with your construction schedule to confirm our current delivery schedule.
CustomCreteWerks, Inc. templates local projects within 100 miles of our manufacturing facility. If you are outside of this area your contractor or a qualified countertop installer can template and install our products.
Commercial Projects: We typically do not template commercial projects due to the lull created between templating and delivery. Most commercial projects are manufactured to architectural drawings allowing us to complete the project by a specific deadline.
To receive and estimate we need detailed information regarding your project. You can either send detailed architectural drawings or for simple projects a hand sketch with measurements will do.
Yes. Our indoor countertops are warranted against structural cracking due to manufacture defects.
Yes. Our indoor N-hansed™ concrete surfaces are backed with a 5 year warranty against staining.
There is more to making concrete countertops then buying products off the shelf and casting them into a form. High quality concrete countertop manufactures are harder to find and our processes are not something you can learn overnight. With our many years of experience we have developed an N-hansed™ surface that is stain-proof and only needs routine cleaning to maintain. (Our N-hansed™ indoor items are covered by a 5 year warranty against manufacture defects, structural cracking and staining)
Our manufacturing process for concrete countertops creates less material waste than quarrying and fabrication of granite.
Our concrete offers more color consistency than granite making it easier to pick colors from samples without having to visit a stone yard and spend hours searching. Plus our N-hansed™ surfaces are virtually maintenance free and can be cleaned with standard household cleaners.
Unfortunately there is more production process to manufacture concrete countertops than there is to manufacture granite countertops. Our concrete products are made from raw materials. We hand make all the needed molds, batch the materials, hand cast, cure and then process each piece by hand.
Our concrete surfaces vary in price from $15 per sq. ft. (tiles) to over $120 per sq. ft. (complex countertops) The best way to get an accurate estimate is to send us details about your project. We are able to give estimates from architectural drawings or a hand sketch will do for the simple projects.
Concrete offers many advantages over other surfaces allowing each counter to be a one of a kind creation. Concrete can be molded into complex shapes that cannot be easily manufactured using other materials. Color options are endless and pieces do not need to be laminated together to make thicker edges. This allows the designer and homeowner a larger degree of options to create inspiring designs.
